We are bringing Doctors Health SA to rural regions, providing a dinner evening of helpful strategies for managing the busy modern medical life. The session includes information on time management, caring for your own health (the services available to doctors), exploring mindfulness and other strategies to create the much needed balance in today’s professional world.
Over 50 rural GPs and medical students have attended these rural sessions so far with our Medical Director, Dr Roger Sexton – next stops:

Doctors For Doctors (D4D) one-day seminar
D4D1 Training 2017 – dates to be released soon!
Doctors’ Health SA has developed a specific training program for doctors who treat other doctors. We deliver two one-day seminars each year on various topics relevant to the treatment and health care of the medical profession. The program is developed by the DHSA Education and Training Committee.
The first is our D4D1 introductory seminar for doctors who have not previously attended a doctors training seminar.
The second is our D4D2 refresher seminar which focusses on clinical skills and clinical medicine relevant to the assessment of doctors and medical students.
The curriculum has been running since 2009 and is based on adult learning principles, regular needs assessments, CanMEDS, and literature reviews and local survey data. We also make extensive use of evaluation and feedback from previous seminars. These seminars offer a broad coverage of doctors’ health, and risk assessment for well and unwell doctors. They are independently accredited by MIGA(the provider of Australia’s leading Medical Defence Risk Management Program) and by RACGPand ACRRM
Expert speakers and facilitators use a range of different learning formats, including small group discussion, case study presentation and pre- and post-seminar activities. Click here to see our D4D1program and our most recentD4D2program.
Average attendance is about 20, and registrants have rated these events very highly, saying that they are valuable both personally and professionally. Register for our next one-day seminar.
