Overview of the Doctors’ Health SA Program

 

 

  1. A Doctor OR Medical Student can choose to contact the program in a number of ways –
    • By PHONE – on 8232 1250.
    • For urgent confidential advice, ring 8336 0250
    • by EMAIL to the Medical Director at roger.sexton@doctorshealthsa.com.au
    • by visiting the WEBSITE for general and self-help information and to find a GP.
    • by attending the after –hours CLINIC at 327 South Terrace Adelaide in person (from 11th April 2012)
      • by TELEMEDICINE ( a proposed new service during 2012)
  2. If you need DOCTOR, we can assist you by:
    • A choice of trained GPs in our GP Network will be available to the profession only in early 2012 by logging in to our secure profession-only section of the site.

  3. If you want a CHECK-UP, you can choose to
    • attend the AH Clinic at 327 South Terrace  for a comprehensive check-up. Appointments for this service can be made by phone or on-line from 1st April 2012.
    • directly access a GP of choice from the GP network by contacting the program on  8232 1250, or, from 1st March 2012,  via the AH Clinic or via the secure website.
  4. The GPs in the GP Network
    • are experienced and caring General Practitioners
    • have a keen interest in doctors’ health,
    • hold high standards of professionalism,
    • undertake ongoing additional accredited training in doctors’ health,(the curriculum),
    • are credentialled annually via the DHSA Clinical Committee and are eligible for 
    • membership of this group on the basis of active participation in the training curriculum and commitment to the confidentiality agreement.
  5. The Program emphasises professionalism and confidentiality in its operating systems.
  6. The Program places high importance on
    • Choice
    • Confidentiality
    • Voluntary participation
    • prevention and check-ups and
    • the value of having a GP for your ongoing care.
    • Education of the profession
    • Proactive invitations to doctors and students to attend for check-ups 
  7. The program is creating a very secure Database to be able to invite doctors to attend for a check-up in the interests of their health.
  8. The GP Network can appropriately connect doctors and students to the wider health system.
