Dr Richard Hetzel

Dr Richard Hetzel FRACGP MAICD is the Chair, Board of Directors, Doctors' Health SA and Chair, Australasian Doctors' Health Network.
Has worked as a GP for many years in Melbourne and Adelaide with special interests in psychiatry and has been a strong advocate for doctors' health in SA and nationally. 

Dr Rakesh Mohindra

Dr Mohindra is an international medical graduate and has worked as a full-time general practice principal in Adelaide and brings a unique perspective to the Board. He has been a past Chair of RACGP Council, SA&NT Faculty, an AGPAL surveyor and is currently a member of the SA Board of the Medical Board of Australia.

Dr Karen Sumner

Dr Karen Sumner is the Medical Director at the Rural Doctors Workforce Agency in South Australia. She has held this position for twelve years and is responsible for clinical governance across the Agency. This involves working in the areas of recruitment and retention of doctors in rural South Australia. One of her key responsibilities is managing the Dr DOC program, a range of strategies that addresses a doctors duty of care to themselves, their families and their colleagues in the area of personal health from prevention right through to crisis support. Prior to working for the RDWA she worked in rural general practice and was the Medical Director of the Murray Mallee Division of General Practice for a period of ten years.

Dr Rick Fielke

Dr Fielke is currently a rural General Practice Registrar in the Riverland and an active contributor to a number of medical organisations including the AMA Doctors-in-Training and the federal AMA Council of General Practice. He has a keen interest in procedural rural practice, medical politics and leadership and the health of doctors.

Dr Andrew Lavender

Dr Lavender is a full-time staff anaesthetist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the immediate past president of the AMA (SA) His leadership at the AMA was significant in the establishment of Doctors’ Health SA. 

 

Craig L Farrow

Craig L Farrow B Ec, Dip FS, CPMgr, SA Fin, FCA, FAICD
Mr Farrow is a founding partner of Brentnalls SA, Chartered Accountants and former National Chairman of the Brentnalls National Affiliation of Accounting Firms. He is Deputy President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, Chairman of Tonkin Consulting Engineers, M2 Telecommunications Group and AIRR Holdings Limited. In addition, Mr Farrow is a director and Board adviser to several private consulting and trading enterprises across the agribusiness, software and manufacturing sectors. Formerly Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Accountant’s Public Practice Advisory Committee, Mr Farrow is also highly awarded, including being a Fellow of the Governor’s Leadership Foundation and receiving the Institute of Chartered Accountants 1999 National President’s Award for services to the Institute and the profession.

 

Ross Roberts-Thomson

Ross Roberts-Thomson graduated in 2010 and works as an intern at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He has a keen interest in global health, medical education, and doctors’ wellbeing. He is the Past-President of the Australian Medical Students' Association and currently is Co-Chair of Future Health Leaders, an SAIMET Councillor and Co-Founder of the Global Ideas Forum.

Dr Roger Sexton

MBBS (Adel), DRCOG, FRACGP, FACRRM, Grad Dip BA (Adel), GAICD
Dr Sexton was appointed part-time Medical Director in 2011. He has been a rural procedural GP for 29 years and is currently in both part-time rural and urban practice and a tutor at the University of Adelaide Medical School. He is a member of the PBAC. Roger is the immediate past-Presiding Member of the Medical Board of SA. He has a long-standing interest in doctors’ health, having played a major role in establishing both the rural doctors’ Dr DOC program in early 1999 and the new Doctors’ Health SA Program. He is completing his MBA at the University of Adelaide.

Ms Patrick was appointed in August 2010. She has extensive experience in the management of medical practices and has been a past president of the Australian Association of Practice Managers. She has significant experience in the delivery of corporate health checks in remote areas.
